Three D were a singing group from Corpus Christi, Texas, that toured with Selena y Los Dinos as dancers in the late 80s. One of its members, Don Shelton, would become a member of Selena y Los Dinos in the early 90s.

With Selena y Los Dinos[]

After a few exchanges with A.B. Quintanilla and an early listen of new song, Enamorada De Ti, Three D were hired as choreographers and dancers. They arranged to meet Selena and begin rehearsing a week before the 1990 Tejano Music Awards performance. Following the televised performance, Three D were invited to tour as dancers with Selena y Los Dinos during the Ven Conmigo Live Tour.

Following the tour, the band relocated to Los Angeles and eventually disbanded. At this time, Shelton returned to Corpus Christi.

Notable performances[]

Three D performed with Selena y Los Dinos during the 1990 Tejano Music Awards. This performance caught the attention of EMI Records and EMI Latin executives who were in the audience.

Appearance on the Netflix series[]

Three D's likeness appears briefly in “Fideo” (season one, episode 7) of the Netflix series, Selena: The Series. During Selena's performance of Enamorada De Ti, viewers can see Three D in the identical all-black outfits with blue vests that were opposed by Abraham Quintanilla, as Dunson recounts.
