Biography[]
He enlisted in the U.S Army immediately after completing High School and served in the 82nd Airborne Division as a paratrooper. After serving, He started his theater education under the guidance of Professor, Hector Serrano, founder of Viva El Paso and Shakespeare on The Rocks Theater Festival. His first break in film came from the Hughes Brothers and their film, The Book of Eli. In the same year Luis was cast as the lead in the award winning independent film, Ilegales, for which he earned a Best Actor Award in Chicago's Naperville Independent Film Festival. He has had recurring roles FX's The Bridge, AMC's Better Call Saul, A&E's Longmire. Luis plays Nelson Herrera on Starz' new critically acclaimed series, Vida. He wrapped on the show's third season due for release on 2020. He next star alongside Melissa Barrera, Jackie Cruz and Jorge Garcia in Ryan Lacen's debut feature film All The World is Sleeping. Luis is the son of a retired U.S Army Staff Sergeant, Alexander Bordonada, who served three combat tours in Vietnam and Korea. This made his portrayal as Charlie Burroughs in the feature film SGT Will Gardner his most role to date.
